Freehold Going Concern
Popular Tourist Leisure Business
Fantastic Location
Freehold Property on Two Titles

Punakaiki Canoes is an Iconic Kayaking Business located on the shores of the Pororari River adjacent to the DOC carpark. The current owners are selling to retire after successfully operating the business since the late 1980's. the vendors are motivated to sell and have priced the property accordingly.

There are two buildings on the property, one which is the base for the canoe business and a second small residential cottage. The buildings are well maintained and the property is in two titles that adjoin each other.

The main building is suitable for a range of uses including a cafe, bar and/or restaurant, the existing canoe business, or developed into a Guest B&B or other Tourism based activities,

The business comprises around 50 well maintained canoes and associated equipment. The main building includes the canoe store, two changing rooms and a large open plan kitchen/service/lounge area.
The cottage is in tidy condition and rented out for $120/night over the summer months (normally at least 5 nights per week over 3 months)

Punakaiki is one of the most popular Tourist locations on the West Coast with over half a million visitors travelling this highway each year. The Business has DOC concession for kayaking on the river as well as guiding trips. They also have further concessions to travel up Bullock Creek and canoe down the Pororari River
Brokers Comment
Freehold Properties of this type are seldom offered to the market.
The location is superb for the Canoe business being next to the Pororari River and with State Highway frontage. there is also a parking area directly opposite the property which results in additional business and provides ample parking for clientele.
An astute investor could develop the property further including B&B, cafe/Restaurant possibilites, or additional tourism activities.

Vendors offering the property to the market at below registered valuation!

Punakaiki is a small community on the West Coast of the South Island New Zealand- The community lies on the edge of the Paparoa National ParkThe Pancake Rocks are a very popular tourist goal at Dolomite Point south of the main village. The Pancake Rocks are a heavily eroded limestone area where the sea bursts though a number of vertical blowholes during high tides. Together with the 'pancake'-layering of the limestone (created by immense pressure on alternating hard and soft layers of marine creatures and plant sediments), these form the main attraction of the area.

The Pancake Rocks are presently explorable by a number of walkways winding through the rock formations, parts of these wheelchair-accessible and others carved into stairways up and down the rock faces.State Highway 6, the only through road on the West Coast, passes through the town.
