Buffalo Lodge is largely independent, with a 3000 Gallon Water Storage Tank supplied by rainwater and a private water supply. Sewerage is by ecocycle system. As a result council rates are much reduced. Electricity is from the mains and gas for the kitchen is by LPG bottle.

POSSIBILITIES for FUTURE DEVELOPMENT:

This property is currently being operated in high season only, as a superior quality lodge offering accommodation to 3 -4 couples. There is proven demand for a longer season and creative marketing will grow revenue considerably.

The restaurant is not presently open, but the Resource Consent exists for up to 12 guests. The Restaurant permit and BYO licence are current. Buffalo Lodge deserves another chef to maximize this intimate dining opportunity, including daytime cafe.

Because of its proximity to Auckland (approx. 60 km in a direct line or 2.5 hours driving time), Coromandel has a very promising future as far as tourism investments are concerned. Kawau Cat ferry services Coromandel from Auckland via Waiheke Island.  Coromandel also has an airstrip, which can land charter flights to and from Auckland (20 minutes).
