After a number of years the business owner at this motel is keen to move on although somewhat sadly as the property which is in a great location near the best beach on the Kapiti Coast is doing well with increasing revenues.
 
The motel has really nice accommodation units for guests with 9 Studio Units, 1 luxury Studio Unit, 2 one bedroom units and 2 two level one bedroom units - a total of 14 nicely decorated rooms for guests to enjoy.
 
The property converts one of the rooms to being a spacious conference room when needed and there is a conservatory room that is ready to be converted to possibly having a Sauna with cold blast showers or even go with the idea of a conservatory meeting room.
 
There is regular corporate business stay at the motel with some companies nominating Wrights by the Sea as the preferred accommodation in the area.
 
The owners accommodation is a three bedroom apartment with very large rooms, Lounge and a fabulous sized kitchen that caters well for the home and guest breakfasts.
 
The laundry is a decent size and caters well for all the linen requirements.
 
There is to be an extension to the lease to 20 years starting June 2012 - an added value addition to the business.

Golf anyone - this property is right opposite the Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club - 18 holes after motel duties may I suggest !!

This is a nice tidy operation with serviceability to the units easy due to the courtyard effect and with the Laundry, Conference room and Reception all adjacent to the owners accommodation making this operation a good facility to operate - All in easy reach.

I like the colour tonings of this property with room furnishings to match. There is no outstanding feature that calls for upgrades at this time and so for the new business owner seemingly a plain sailing by the sea exercise. Being close to the beach front and cafes and shops is an added attraction for guests and operator alike.

I would suggest that I call attention to all couples or for that matter singles to operate this property and even having one and one - One attending to the business while the other continues with a career day time job elsewhere.  Makes good sense to me.

Paraparaumu Beach and the Kapiti Coast 

Paraparaumu Beach is situated to the west of the 'township' of Paraparaumu, located 50 km north of Wellington, New Zealand. The area overlooks Kapiti Island.

In 1839, the New Zealand Company's leader, William Wakefield, landed at Paraparaumu Beach seeking land for settlement.

Lazy summer days on the beach, or invigorating strolls in winter; Paraparaumu Beach gets people back to nature.

The area is well-known for its expansive natural promenade, long sandy beach, some great little cafes, an airport that now has direct flights to Auckland and the south Island and an internationally recognised golf course.

Paraparaumu Beach has rapidly grown in recent years and consists of an extensive housing neighbourhood, a thriving little shopping area and a beach-front recreational park.

From here trips by boat to Kapiti Island are regular. The island is a protected marine and nature reserve, located and easily visible, just five kilometres offshore from the beach. This iconic island is home to some of the most endangered native birds, yet it is one of the few accessible island reserves in New Zealand. As a sanctuary for bird and marine life, access is limited to fifty people daily. Once there, visitors can enjoy viewing wildlife such as the short-tailed bat and the little spotted kiwi, or explore the reserve by boat or kayak, or dive in the waters around the island. Guided tours are available where you can learn more about the island, its history and the role it plays in Maori culture.

Paraparaumu Beach Links Golf Course has become world renowned. The only course in New Zealand played by Tiger Woods, it is regarded by many as New Zealand's best, and is rated number 72 by US Golf Magazine in their world's Top 100.

Paraparaumu Airport is located on the eastern side of Paraparaumu Beach. It is a base for private and charter flights, but also offers some commercial services to destinations around the lower North Island and upper South Island.
