Peter GaleTourism & Hospitality Business Broker
Peter is a true professional with more than 35 years’ experience in business across a wide range of industries. He has even lectured at Otago University in marketing and business development and presented countless workshops for small business. He has worked with some of the world's large 'corporates' across many industries. He’s been a self-employed contractor developing successful new businesses and working alongside many small/medium businesses in a business development role. Some say that he brings genuine business 'wisdom' that only comes from years of true experience.
Peter is one of these people with a real ‘can do’ attitude. When his wife became pregnant and they struggled to find suitable maternity clothing to buy in Dunedin Peter decided to start a maternity clothing retail shop. When he renovated his house and found how unreliable (“they never turn up on time or clean up after themselves”) and difficult to work with some tradespeople are he started his own renovation business called 1STOP to make doing renovations easy for the average busy person. Peter continues to be a director of 1STOP which is now “ticking along nicely”.
“I’ve had many years working in senior corporate roles with companies like IBM, Fisher & Paykel and MTF but it was when I became Marketing Manager for House of Travel Holdings that I gained my first real insight into the tourism, leisure and hospitality sector. I later found myself consulting and mentoring to a wide range of small to medium size tourism/hospitality businesses in Otago/Central Otago and Southland through my ongoing association with the Otago Chamber of Commerce. I recall once presenting to a group of tourism business owners in Queenstown when at the start of the presentation one of the owners invited me to take off my tie saying that “here in Queenstown we don’t trust anyone who wears a tie…” says Peter
In the last 15 years or so Peter has been successfully involved in property and real estate, including with CRT (now Farmlands) and Colliers International. He is a passionate real estate professional and says that through his previous experience he has a “particular fondness and excitement for the tourism, hospitality and leisure sector”.
Tourism Properties believe the Coastal Otago Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure real estate sectors are very privileged to have Peter as the Tourism Properties Otago Coastal (Waitaki River to Balclutha/Catlins) Business Broker based in Dunedin to service both vendors and purchasers requirements in buying or selling Tourism related Businesses and Properties.
I just wanted to pass on our sincere thanks to Tourism Properties for the work done in getting our business sold. We'd like to acknowledge the professionalism of Pete in his work in getting this deal over the line. Pete has been a pleasure to deal with and in particular the communication that he has had with us during this process gave us comfort that the sale was in the right hands.
It was a very challenging process for us and Pete's ability to be able to 'translate' intent and give us advice helped us make informed decisions and ultimately secure the sale.
We would have no hesitation in recommending the services Tourism Properties in the future.
Again our very warmest and sincere thanks.
