After 13 plus wonderful years the vendors of the Lake Roxburgh Lodge have decided to semi retire and take some well earned time out to visit with family overseas and are offering for sale the business as a Freehold Going Concern..

This property was originally built in 1956 by the Ministry of Works and operated as a hostel to accommodate the single men who worked at the nearby Roxburgh Hydro Dam. When the vendors first took over the business in March 1996 it was in private ownership and operating as an accommodation base for elderly guests visiting the area for garden Tours and also operating as a take-away food business for locals. After years of hard work and a strong committment to succeed, the vendors have achieved a 4 Star plus Qualmark Rating for the Lodge and have also been presented with a Qualmark Enviro Award and they where also presented with the 2008 Central Otago Tourism Award.

The Lodge consists of 11 Guest Rooms all of which have been meticuously decorated and fitted out with quality chattels. All guest rooms have Private en-suite.

The Restaurant can seat 32 indoors and there is a large outdoor deck adjacent to the Restaurant and capable of accommodating a similar number of diners.

The buildings are all of solid brick construction and during the refurbishment process much of the Rimu Framing was transformed into Furniture for the Dining and Guest Rooms.

The Grounds are expansive, nearly 2 acres pf well maintained gardens with plenty of grassed areas for guests to be able to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The Lodge provides Mountain Bikes and Kayaks for guest use and these are included in the chattels

This is truly an amazing lifestyle property.

The property itself would suit a Couple as the private accommodation is limited to a One Bedroom Flat, although there is room for expansion. Ideally one person would posses Culinary Skills.

This is a great opportunity for someone to enter into and make their mark in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry and also enjoy a fantastic lifestyle in the stunning location of Central Otago.

Lake Roxburgh is an artificial lake, created by the Roxburgh Dam, the earliest of the large hydroelectric projects in the southern South Island of New Zealand. It lies on the Clutha River, some 160 kilometres from Dunedin. It covers an area of some 6 km², and extends for nearly 30 kilometres towards the town of Alexandra. The town of Roxburgh lies five kilometres south of the Dam.

Roxburgh is a small New Zealand town in the Teviot Valley of about 750 people on the banks of the Clutha River, 40 km south of Alexandra in the South Island. It is on the main highway linking Central Otago (in which it lies) with the city of Dunedin, 155 km to the east.

An important centre during the Central Otago goldrush of the 1860s, in more recent times Roxburgh has relied on a mixture of livestock and stone fruit production for its economic survival. It is one of the country's most important apple growing regions, and other stone fruit such as cherries and apricots are also harvested locally.
