Croydon Aviation Heritage Centre & Museum blank

The nearby Mandeville/Croydon Aviation Heritage Centre houses mostly aircraft from the 1920s and 30s, including an extensive collection of de Havilland aircraft. It is unique in that nearly all of the aircraft on display actually fly. This nationally significant museum is dedicated to preserving and celebrating New Zealand’s civil aviation heritage – both the stories of pioneer aviators and their equally colourful machines. Many of the aircraft on display have been restored and are maintained by the Mandeville based Croydon Aircraft Company. Here you can even go for a flight in a Tiger Moth airplane!

Our room at the front which was a reasonably new addition was very good, very comfortable bed with great bathroom and kitchen facilities. There was plenty of room with adequate seating and table, chairs etc. This motel is very handy to downtown Gore so very convenient, more than happy to stay there again when in Gore, some very good restaurants as well.

My partner and I stayed in a one bedroom unit over our holiday period, we found our unit very clean, bed was lovely and comfortable, high quality bedding, with a decent shower and nice clean self contained kitchen we could cook in. Also handy to have town and restaurants in walking distance!
The owners and staff were very accommodating and friendly, thanks for helping us navigate our next stop off on our journey and putting on the lovely warm weather!! Will definitely return if back in the area.
